Robert C. Jones has worked in feature film editing
for almost fifty years.
Since his first position as assistant film editor at
20th Century Fox, he has gone on to edit such films
as Paint Your Wagon, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad,
Mad World, Shampoo, Heaven Can Wait,
The Last Detail, Love Story, Bound
For Glory, City Hall, Guess Who's Coming
to Dinner? and Bulworth, working with such
directors as Hal Ashby, Warren Beatty, Stanley Kramer
and Arthur Hiller.
He has also written for the stage and screen. His editing
work has been recognised by 3 Academy Award nominations
and 2 ACE Eddie nominations, whilst his screenwriting
on the Hal Ashby film Coming Home earned him an Oscar,
as well as a Writer's Guild award for Best Written American
Drama Written Directly For the Screen.
Jones currently is a professor in the Cinema/Television
School at theUniversity of Southern California.
