Nick Heim is a filmmaker originally
from Pavilion, NY. Pavilion is a small town of
~2,000 and you have never heard of it unless you
live there or you read that last sentence.
Nick graduated from Bowling Green State University
in Ohio in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in film,
and a minor in Russian Language.
While at BGSU, he co-wrote and directed (with
Rob LaPoint) a sketch comedy show called "The
Tom Foolery Show", which ran for 2 seasons
on WBGU-TV, the local PBS affiliate and campus
channel. It was very funny but poorly filmed,
with what Corbin Bernsen so memorably called "birthday
party sound".
To remedy this, Nick moved to LA in 2001 to attend
USC's graduate school of Cinema-TV. While at USC,
Nick directed several short films and edited several
others, including "Crushes" (dir.
James Berry) and "A Little Bit of Heart"
(dir. Anne Russell).
Nick is also a world-class discus thrower, and
competed in the Summer Olympics in Athens in 2004
as part of the West German women's team. He has
an extensive collection of Greek literature, including
JVRASSIC PARK and SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO GOD OF
LIGHT.
He can currently be seen on Fox's hit program
"The O.C.", where he plays Orange
County.
