Herzl Tobey Trained at The Arts Educational
Schools, London from '95 to '98. And he is
currently studying at The Bernard Hiller Acting
Studio.
Following Graduation Herzl did a variety of theatrical
productions, from Jean Genet and Choderlos de
Laclos to David Mamet and Tom Stoppard.
Realizing that the British taste of material
is not inclusive of the non born or bred English
residence/actors, he decided to make a change.
He first performed in Israel at the Tel-Aviv university,
and then resolved to making the move to Los Angeles.
He arrived at Los Angeles after being offered
a part in the Original Stage production of the
play 'The Palestinian Connection',
directed by Roy Avigdori. He played the part of
Ahmed Bakur, the Palestinian Terrorist organization
leader. The Back Stage West review said that "Herzl
Tobey brought a cold blooded matter of fastness
to his role as the terrorist."
Following that Herzl was offered a part on the
Golden Globe winning TV series 'The Shield',
a part which Herzl was called back to do in the
season premiere episode of 2004. Herzl was later
offered to play Amos Aitan, an Israel Colonel
in the theatrical production 'Convergence',
of which he also took part in writing.
Following that he played the part of the Rabbi
in Roy Avigdori's short/pilot 'Gone Sour'
(in post production).
On April 2004 he took part in the film Ground
Zero, directed by the feature film director
Joseph Zito. He played the "mind" behind a series
of attacks on American targets abroad and at home.
